News Carson City has an update from NDOT saying the second leg of the Carson City Freeway will be opening in September. I thought it was supposed to be August, but maybe these schedules are always in flux. And just like with the first phase of the freeway, there will be a day when the public can walk on the new road before it’s open to traffic.
Phase 3 (still officially called Phase 2B, but I’m over that) will begin work next spring, but since they don’t have the money to do it all they’ll be doing it in pieces. First up will be the bridges at Koontz and Clearview, and maybe some work on the roadway between Clearview and Fairview. For all of Phase 3 to be completed and open to traffic they’re looking at 7 years!
