Back in August, the little yellow house at the corner of Curry and Seventh burned. The fire actually started in the trailer that was parked out back, and most of the trailer was destroyed, along with the shed next to it. The house itself didn’t get a whole lot of damage, mostly just in the back. But back then I wondered if maybe that little bit of damage was enough to spell the end of the house. This week we got our answer.
The demolition crew was in this week tearing the house down and hauling away the debris. They’re pretty much finished now, just an empty lot is left behind. Now we’ll have to wait and see what gets built on that corner to replace it, and how long it takes.
Betcha whatever gets built there gets done years ahead of that 10-story monolith across the street.
How weird, we were just looking at that house during the storm, watching the wind tearing off the roof.
