May 20, 2009 ? The Sierra Nevada Association of REALTORS? recently named Educare dei Montessori Academy in Carson City as the winner of their “Not-So-Extreme” Makeover contest. Educare dei Montessori Academy is a local, non-profit business that was forced to close late last year after 25 years of operation.
“We are grateful to be chosen to receive professional assistance in finishing the renovation of our school,” commented School Board President, Malcolm Lepas. “Our school has successfully educated hundreds of local children over the years, and we are thrilled to be selected by the Sierra Nevada Association of REALTORS? as the recipient of this generous gift. Not only will our students benefit from this great news, but we will be able to hire back employees who had to be laid off, and also help families who depended on our school. My wife, Joan Lepas, and a number of volunteers are donating their time and expertise to operate the school and support new and former employees.”
The Chairperson of the Association’s Community Service Committee, Brenda Hungerford, added, “Our Association members joined together to help make it possible for Educare dei Montessori to proudly re-open their doors this past month. We are fortunate to have a talented group of professionals willing to help. We believe it is important to give back to the community and are excited to help Mrs. Lepas and her volunteers make a difference right here in Carson City. This is economic stimulus at its best!”
While the Association is providing most of the materials and labor, donations from the community are welcome. All donations are tax-deductible and types of contributions needed include:
? Cash Donations
? Eight Bags of Sand Box Sand
? Plants and Flowers
All donations must be received by Thursday, May 28, 2009. If you are interested in making a donation, please contact Brenda Hungerford at All Phase Inspection at 775.720-9943 or Brenda@allphaseinspection.com
The purpose of the CAPS Committee is to reach out into the neighborhoods served by the Sierra Nevada Association of REALTORS? in an effort to make our communities a better place to live and work.
