This house was built in 1871 as the home of Abraham Curry, the founder of Carson City. I’ve covered this house before in a previous Then and Now, but it’s worth a second look. At the time, in 2018, it had come under new ownership and was being remodeled. Now the remodel is finished and it’s looking great. The front porch had been removed but it’s back now; new roof, new trees have been planted, new lawn and landscaping, and raised garden beds along the side of the house. It’s a great showcase for the west side historic district, and keeping the legacy of Abe Curry alive.
