Memorial Day is here, which means the steam-up schedule at the Nevada State Railroad Museum has started. This Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, May 23-25, rides will be available on the museum’s equipment, pulled by one of their authentic steam locomotives. The train is running from 10am to 4pm, with scheduled departures from the station every 40 minutes.
This is only the beginning of a summer full of train rides. Every weekend from now on you will be able to go for a ride, until the end of the season on September 27th. Most weekends the museum’s motor car will be available for rides, but on special occasions the full steam train will come out. Those dates are as follows.
May 23-25, Memorial Day
June 20-21, Father’s Day
July 4-5, Independence Day
August 1-2
September 5-7, Labor Day
October 31, Nevada Day
November 27-28, Thanksgiving
December 12-13, Santa Train
