Christmas Tree Lighting Moved

I just got word that plans for the Silver & Snowflakes Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony being held tonight, which was supposed to be on the front lawn of the Capitol Building, have been changed. Since the threat of snowfall has gotten more real as the day goes on, event organizers have decided to move the festivities inside.

CHANGE OF PLANS

The Lighting of the State Christmas Tree, scheduled for 5:30 PM tonight, is moving indoors due to weather. The event will be in the Lobby of the Library & Archives building, just behind (to the east) of the Capitol building.

The City Tree Lighting at Nevada & Musser is cancelled. Join us after the Library & Archives at the City Hall Open House.

  1. “due to the weather”. that one always cracks me up around here, since it doesn’t take much weather for things to get sketchy. should’ve kept it outside. it was hot as blazes, you couldn’t hear the kids or anything else but chatter and then they “lit” a small fake tree.
