I haven’t seen anything in the local media about the thick smoke that has been settling into the valleys the last couple of days. From what I can tell, it’s not from any fire in the area. My best guess is that it’s the Ralston Fire, which has burned 8,000 acres in California’s Placer County. We’re just the unlucky ones who get to be downwind from it this week.
There’s a cold front bringing moisture into the Sierras this weekend, so hopefully that’ll be a respite to the firefighters battling this blaze. And hopefully it will also change the wind patterns enough to get this smoke off our necks. Because we sure don’t need it clogging up our backyards!
Congrats on the RGJ link! Looks like they have a new feature going that might help both our community sites grow.
