Pinwheels on the lawn of the Nevada State Legislature. These pinwheels in the shape of a heart were placed on the lawn to raise child abuse awareness. From the Nevada Appeal:
Carson City’s Advocates to End Domestic Violence worked with the Ron Wood Family Resource Center and the state’s Division of Child & Family Services to arrange the colorful pinwheels in a heart shape on the lawn. They will remain in place for the coming week.
“This campaign is designated to raise awareness of the need for reporting suspected child abuse,” said Advocates spokeswoman Traci Trenoweth.
“Each pinwheel represents a case where a social services group has been called in order to assist a family that had hope of getting help this year, and possibly prevented child abuse,” she said.
