Boucher’s Ascona Lounge Then and Now

Boucher’s Ascona Lounge was a Basque restaurant in the 1960s and 70s that was located way at the south end of town. It was at the corner of Carson Street and Roventini Way. Back then, this part of town was decidedly rural. A small neighborhood was building up, but there were still a lot of empty lots and all the side streets were dirt. It wasn’t until the 1980s that this really started to become an integrated part of town.

In 1977 Boucher’s became home to El Charro Avitia Mexican restaurant, which is still open today.
