Type of food served: Mexican

Taqueria Uruapan is a little hole-in-the-wall mexican cantina in an out-of-the-way warehouse in the Goni industrial park. It's next door to a floor covering shop, and when you go you really feel like you're pulling in to the parking lot to buy some drywall. But the surroundings don't prepare you for how good the food is.

Taqueria Uruapan does get a little crowded at lunchtime. There are about five stools at the counter, an equal number of seats lining the walls, and standing room for maybe another five. The kitchen is right there in full view, close enough that you can almost feel the grease spattering. It's cramped, it's small, it's hot and stuffy, and it's totally worth it. Get the food to go, or grab it and eat at one of the outside picnic tables. But don't deny yourself a visit just because of the way it looks.
