Joe Mango's Cafe opened in the historic Kitzmeyer Furniture Factory in downtown Carson City in March of 2007. It serves an upscale deli menu, with salads, hot sandwiches, fish tacos, breakfast sandwiches, and no alcohol.
Formerly this space was occupied by the Java Joe's coffee house.

Apparently Joe Mango's was just a temporary filler, not a permanent restaurant. The owner only bought the lease so he could turn around and resell it for a profit. He never wanted to operate a long-term restaurant. "I mean, obviously, that's what I needed to portray ... but that's not what the game was," he said. "It was to purchase a really, really fabulous lease on an extremely excellent location in downtown Carson."
More sushi? I really liked US Restaurant, but the owners moved back to Virginia City and is now Ming's Diner. My wife and I are always on the lookout for great places to eat in town.
