The Cafe Del Rio restaurant was originally located in Carson City. But a string of bad luck forced them to jump between three different locations before finally closing up all together.

In early 2004, Brian and Ardi Shaw, the owners, purchased the historic Werrin Building in Virginia City. After a year and a half of renovation, the new Cafe Del Rio opened up on C Street in January, 2006. Their extremely delicious southwest fare is a welcome addition to the Comstock, and sure to keep tourists and locals alike coming back for more.
