Nevada Day arm garters are here! Carson City Soroptimists are starting a new Nevada Day tradition - selling garters downtown during the Saturday Nevada Day celebrations. This year's edition, in keeping with the Hollywood theme, is a silver garter with black lace and ribbons. The garters make a wonderful souvenir, with the ribbons imprinted with the year and theme, and cost only $5. Advance orders, in cards of 10 or 20 garters, are also available to local merchants for resale. The Soroptimists are a service organization, with membership open to professional women. Funds raised from the garter sales go to Soroptimists' Carson City programs such as the Backpack Attack, Easter Shoes, Breast Cancer Screenings, and grants to local organizations.
