This week the signs finally went up on the Five Guys Burgers and Fries that they’re building in the Clear Creek Plaza. They’re been working on the interior for a few weeks now, so it looks like we’ll probably see it open before New Year’s.
Radio Shack has also been open for a while. Last month I was wondering if Carson City would be able to get by with three Radio Shacks, but I found out that what was really happening was that the location in the Carson Mall was closing and relocating here. That store in the mall has been open for as long as I can remember, 20 years at least. It’s seems like it’s just another signpost on the long death march of the Carson Mall. For every new thing that comes in, like Schat’s or Zen’s Cafe, another long-term tenant leaves. That poor mall can’t catch a break.

The signage was actively being put up this past Monday, Dec.26, when we went to TJ’s.
The Five Guys were recruiting staff on Craigslist over the past 3 weeks… Taking applications and interviewing for crewmembers on site at specific dates and times using the empty (west) spot in the buuilding…. I stopped in at one of those times, to ask when they were expecting to open and found a pleasant lady to talk with…
December 05 was the target to open to the public, with staff training starting on the first….Also, the long rumored Reno location is once again in process, still at the south McCarran at Kietzke location. It got set back by real estate delays.
It will be great to see the Guys open locally. Now if we could get a Habit Grill……

Five Guys? Turned out to be a Meh…Place closed..no big surprise…People do not want to pay 11.00++ for a hamburger and fries…
