After all weekend chasing the $48 train up and down the Comstock, we went back to Carson City and rode the $5 train at the railroad museum. One train's as good as another for the kids.
Hey, Scott, Thanks for the kind words and the videos of the Friends at work. Although the V&T track runs most of the V&T line, we, the Friends, run the historical V&T engines and rolling stock. The crew is all volunteers and the money for the tickets goes directly to the Museum.
We encourage everyone to do a two-fer when the steam train is running at the Museum -- ride the V&T line and then come down to Carson and ride in the original equipment. We will be having steam-ups Labor Day weekend (including Monday), Nevada Day (October 31), Thanksgiving (Friday & Saturday), and the Santa Train (December 12 & 13).
Would you mind if we linked to your site from our website, www.nsrm-friends.org so we can show us actually working?
Welcome to Around Carson. This is a new experiment for the Carson area, a website that's entirely built by its readers. Read more about the site, or jump in and start contributing!
