I was curious why our power went out in the middle of the night last night, but being the middle of the night, I figured I'd let it slide and go back to bed. My wife, though, had a more sleepless night, since she relies on the TV to make the Things That Go Bump go bump a little less, and with no TV she actually had to listen to the noises that a house makes at night.

Turns out someone knocked down a power pole, then pulled a hit and run. The power company was able to reroute the wires and replace the pole, but they still have no clues who did it. The power came back on around 4:00 this morning.

I also love the high-tech clip art the paper uses for the story. Looks like someone got a new copy of MS Paint.
