Walking Among the Emperor Penguins

Emperor Penguins

Photographer and naturalist Sharon K. Schafer will present a photographic program on her artistic study of Emperor Penguins in Antarctica on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Nevada State Museum.

During her stay on the Antarctic ice, Schafer was privileged to photograph and sketch at a remote Emperor Penguin rookery on the sea ice near Snow Hill Island, Antarctica. She will share her images and experiences.

Sharon K. Schafer is an award-winning artist, naturalist and Boulder City resident who’s exhibit “The Art of Nature” is on display in the Nevada State Museum through August 2009. Recently Sharon served as artist-in-residence for the prestigious Antarctic Polar Arts Program.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and free for children age 17 and under. For information call 775-687-4810 ext. 237.
